Latest company news about What are the details to pay attention to when charging a portable power source?

1、Selection of charging equipment

1. Prioritize using original chargers: Original chargers are specifically designed for this portable power supply, ensuring stability, safety, and efficiency during charging. It is perfectly matched with the power supply in terms of voltage, current output and other parameters, which can maximize the protection of the power battery and extend its service life.
2. If using a non original charger, make sure the parameters match: check the output voltage, current, and other parameters of the charger, which should be consistent with the input requirements of the portable power supply. Excessive voltage may damage the battery and even cause safety accidents, while low voltage can lead to slow charging or inability to charge properly. For example, if the power supply requires an input voltage of 5V and a current of 2A, the selected charger should also be as close to this parameter combination as possible.

2、 Charging environment requirements

1. Maintain good ventilation: During the charging process, the power supply will generate a certain amount of heat. Choosing a well ventilated environment for charging can help dissipate heat and reduce the risk of power damage due to overheating. Avoid charging the power supply in enclosed spaces such as drawers or cabinets. You can choose to charge it on a well ventilated desktop or in an open area.
2. Suitable temperature: Avoid charging in high or low temperature environments. High temperature can accelerate the chemical reaction of batteries, which may lead to shortened battery life, bulging, and even fire and explosion hazards; In low temperature environments, the charging performance of batteries will decrease, the charging speed will slow down, and even they may not be able to charge properly. Generally speaking, the suitable charging temperature is between 0 ℃ and 40 ℃.
3. Keep away from flammable and explosive materials: During charging, there is a certain amount of energy conversion and storage inside the power supply, which may cause fire or explosion in case of accidents. Therefore, it is necessary to stay away from flammable and explosive materials such as gasoline, alcohol, fireworks, and firecrackers to ensure the safety of the charging environment.

3、 Precautions during charging process

1. Avoid overcharging: Although many portable power sources have overcharge protection functions, to ensure safety and battery life, the charger should be unplugged promptly after charging is complete. If the power supply does not have overcharge protection function, it is even more important to strictly control the charging time and avoid long-term charging. The charging status can be determined based on the charging indicator light or battery level display of the power supply, and charging should be stopped immediately when it shows fully charged.
2. Reduce charging and using at the same time: Charging and using at the same time will cause the power supply to perform both charging and discharging processes simultaneously, which will increase the burden on the battery, leading to increased battery heating and affecting battery life. If it is necessary to use a power source during charging, efforts should be made to minimize the use of high-power devices or prolonged use.
3. Pay attention to the condition of the charging cable: check if the charging cable is damaged, broken, or has poor contact. If the charging cable is damaged, it should be replaced in a timely manner to avoid affecting the charging effect or causing safety issues. At the same time, it is necessary to avoid excessive bending, pulling, or winding of the charging cable to prevent damage to the internal wires.
